As part of president Bola Tinubu’s decision to constitute his cabinet was the appointment of Ms Olu Verheijen as the president’s Special Adviser on Energy.

Her close to two decades  experience in the field, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise that encompasses the oil, gas, power, and renewable energy sectors in sub-Saharan Africa.

Ms Verheijen formerly worked at Shell, where she provided advice on gas commercialization and participated in mergers and acquisitions. She held the position of Founder and Managing Director at Latimer Energy, a commercial consultancy firm that specializes in advising clients on investment decisions in the energy sector.

She holds a B.Sc. in Economics & Political Science from Long Island University, NY, United States and Masters in Public Policy from Harvard School of Business in 2003.

She brings on board vibrancy and innovation to drive Nigeria’s Energy Policy at the presidency.
